Former Vice President, Gilbert Bukenya has
spoken out on his U-turn from the opposition to
the NRM.
At his home in Kakiri yesterday, Bukenya told his
supporters that those critiquing him should leave
him alone and concentrate on their own
candidature. He said he had a right to support
any candidate of his choice.
Last week, Bukenya, who had been very active in
the opposition The Democratic Alliance declared
to support president Museveni in the 2016 polls
sparking criticism from the opposition and public.
He said the TDA was poisoned and made up of
greedy people singing praise for the president as
having the right qualifications to lead the
country.
The former vice president has rubbished claims
that he had received a shs10 billion bribe for his
U-turn.
