The acting chairperson of the Inter Religious Council of Uganda (IRCU) Sheikh Shaban Ramadthan Mubajje has urged Ugandans to be responsible and ensure peaceful elections due tomorrow.
Mubajje has listed a number of concerns in the build up to the elections tomorrow like provocation between supporters of different candidates, Violence, deployment of the security forces, and verbal threats between some Ugandans which he says have causes fear.
He has explained that all candidates and Ugandans ought to that Political party loyalty should not stand in the way to a peaceful election and a stable Uganda.
“This is our country and we shall all live here today, tomorrow and after elections, its our responsibility to keep peace and loving one another” Mubajje has said.
We seemed to have gone back to our ugly face when commotion broke out in Wandegeya on Monday 15 February.
“Tears were shade on Monday, Blood poured and lives lost, Ugandans must stand against that, we shouldn’t see that again” said Canon Rtd Justice James Ogola in a shaky voice.
All Ugandans should be mature, peaceful, calm & cool as they vote added Ogoola.
This while addressing a news conference at their Namirembe based offices ahead of tomorrows February 18 2016 elections.
