of opposition parties and civil society,
is expected to sit in September to
choose its joint presidential flag
bearer for the 2016 elections.
The joint presidential candidate will
be chosen from among the 7
opposition political parties that are
members of the alliance.Norbert
Mao, President-General of the
Democratic Party, has said the
coalition is steadfast in ensuring that
President Yoweri Museveni is
defeated in the 2016 general
elections. Mao was speaking to
journalists at the DP party
headquarters.Critics say recent
internal wrangles within two major
opposition political parties,
Democratic Party and the Uganda
People’s Congress could compromise
the purpose of the alliance.

appointed a committee of eminent
persons to seek solutions to the
differences within these partes.
