Democratic Party president Norbert Mao, defends Amama Mbabazi’s late entry into the opposition’s coalition, The Democratic Alliance.
This comes amidst criticisms and questions as to why the former premier joined the alliance’s search for a joint presidential candidate, beyond the deadline and more so, at night.
Mao, in a weekly press briefing at the DP Head Offices at City House in Kampala says that Amama’s entry should raise no eye brows.
Mao also cautions supporters to individual members in the coalition against black mailing the alliance but instead trust it for regime change.
He says the threats by some parties like the Forum for Democratic Change to withdrawal from the alliance would only escalate impunity in the country.
