Democratic Party President Norbert Mao has today been nominated to contest in the opposition Democratic Alliance where political parties are seeking to field a single candidate to contest against president Museveni in next year’s presidential elections.
Mao was accompanied by the Party Secretary General Mathias Nsubuga and other members to the TDA offices in Naguru where he was received by Livingstone Okello-Okello the Chairman of TDA’s Candidates Committee.
He however advises the alliance not to boycott elections but continue pursuing reforms.
Mao has been second to former vice president Prof. Gilbert Bukenya who was nominated last week. FDC’s Dr. Kizza Besigye is expected to get nominated on Wednesday.
