KCCAs Joseph Ochaya could face arrest after information emerged on Tuesday that he holds two different passports.
Frank Anyau, the U-23 assistant coach revealed that they decided to drop the player ahead of the 2015 All Africa Games qualifier against Mozambique after discovering that he holds two valid passports with different names.
“Ochaya is a good player, but we fear to use him against Mozambique on Saturday because he has two different passports and this could cause us problems,” stated Anyau.
Pamela Ankunda, the spokesperson for the Uganda Immigration Department said they will carry out investigations about the matter and reveal the findings at a later date. “We shall let you know after the investigations are complete,” said Ankunda.
Last week the same player received an International Transfer Certificate (ITC) after Fifa issued a statement instructing Ghana’s Asante Kotoko to release Ochaya. The player who absconded last year and returned to Uganda had complained that the club was not fulfilling some of it’s contractual obligations.
Ochaya has since joined his former Club KCCA FC and featured for them in the 1-0 win against Entebbe FC on Tuesday in a Uganda Premier League (UPL) tie.
