Justice James Ogoola is set for retirement upon the expiry of his contact as Chairman of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) on February 2, this year .
The Judicial Service Commission is the government body mandated to recriut and discipline Judicial Officers .
The Uganda Constitution stipulates a four – year term contract which is subject to a one time renewal . However, Ogoola , who was first sworn in as the Chairman of the commission in February 2012 is not eligible for a reappointment after clocking the mandatory retirement age of 70.
The retirement is comfirmed by a highly placed source at the Commission who preferred anonymity.
