NRM flag bearer President Yoweri Museveni has said that he is willing to quit power peacefully if he losses in the forth coming 2016 general elections.
Addressing a news conference at Arua State Lodge on Thursday, Museveni said: “I cannot abandon Uganda to people who have no mission for this country.”
He has scoffed at his political rivals who refer to him as a ‘power hungry.
” I am mission hungry not power hungry We are focused on creating more jobs, so that the value of labour will increase. I cannot be intimidated by people with no mission.” explained Museveni.
He explained that his leadership is based on missions.
The press conference aimed at providing a wrap up of the major issues that he campaigned on in the region. The most prominent issues at the rallies have been electrification, modern agriculture, education, health and Infrastructure development.
On the question of age limits, Museveni said he will follow the constitution as he has always done.
Museveni described as reckless Dr. Kizza Besigye’s proposal of increasing wage bill at the expense of infrastructure development.
