The political career of the president’s
son-in-law Odrek Rwabwogo suffered
a setback after NRM’s Central
Executive Committee, which is
mandated to vet candidates rejected
his bid on grounds of inexperience.
Rwabwogo had recently announced
that he would contest the position of
NRM vice-chairperson Western region,
a move that set him on a collision
path with the incumbent Maj. Gen.
Matayo Kyaligonza.
Jeff Rwakanuma who was eyeing the
same seat was also rejected
alongside Hakeem Asiimwe Lukenge
who was seeking the coveted position
of first vice-chairperson currently
occupied by Moses Kigongo.
