2016 Presidential aspirant Prof. Venacius Baryamureeba is accusing police of being a huge stumbling block to his bid to be president of Uganda in 2016.
Baryamureeba who has returned nomination forms at the Independent Electoral commission has told journalists that police blocked his agents and even arrested some of them as they collected signatures seconding his presidential bid among other challenges.
He cites Kisoro district and Soroti where the police arrested his supporters.
” some DPC’s threatened my supporters that i am registering a rebel group which created unnecessary fear among my supporters that they will be arrested if they signed by nomination paper” said Baryamureeba.
Commenting on the incumbent president, Baryamureeba has explained that he doesn’t hold any personal grudge with president Museveni whom he describes as an aged president who should retire from politics and so is Amama Mbabazi.
