The 13 suspects of the July/2010 Kampala twin bombings have concluded defending themselves against charges of terrorism, Murder and attempted murder of 76 people who were watching the World cup football finals at Kyadondo and Kabalagala, and will know their fate in February/2016.
This was revealed by presiding High court Judge Alfonse Owiny-Dollo as he adjourned the case to 25/January/2016 to hear final submissions on the matter from both Prosecution and Defence Lawyers, on whether the suspects should be convicted or acquitted.
The submissions that are expected to go up to 30th/January/2016 will be followed by Justice Owiny-Dollo summing up the entire case for the Assessors who will also give their opinion, advising the Judge on whether to convict or acquit the suspects and final judgement will follow in the next 48hours.
This after the Defence case closed today with the evidence of key suspect Isa Ahmed Luyima who is accused of being the brain behind the 11.July.2010 attacks.
Luyima a former Librelian at Kampala International University [KIU} disclosed to court that he is being jailed for refusing to reveal information to security pinning slain Moslems including, Shiekh Mustafa Bahiga, Hassan Kirya among others on wether they conspired to send youths to Somalia to be radicalised into acts of terrorism.
